Qualifications and Experience
Professional QualificationsI am a qualified psychotherapist registered both with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I also qualified as a counsellor and am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Finally, I am also a professional member of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC), the professional body of WPF therapy in London Bridge.
In addition to a busy private practice in Hampstead, I am a Training Manager, Lecturer,Supervisor and Academic tutor for a 4- year training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy in central London. I qualified as a Supervisor with the Society of Analytical Psychology (SAP), am a DIT practitioner (dynamic interpersonal therapy). I also work part time as a student counsellor and consultant at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Finally, I would like to add a particular interest in Mindfulness techniques. I run Mindfulness workshops for psychotherapists and counsellors at WPF therapy, London Bridge.
Mindfulness now has a growing research base that gives powerful evidence for its efficacy in a wide range of problems - physical and psychological but especially in the treatment of anxiety and depression. While my main model of working is psychoanalytic, I practise using a mindfulness-informed approach both for the clinician and the patient.
I have been working in the field for about 15 years and follow a strict code of ethics ensuring the highest standards of confidentiality and professional practice.
I am available for psychotherapy, one to one supervision or academic tutoring.
Personal ApproachI work with a wide variety of clients and life problems. People often reach out for help when they feel blocked, reach a crisis point or sometimes feel a certain life emptiness or find that they can't develop the sort of more long-term meaningful close relationships they are looking for to feel more fulfilled.
I am particularly interested in working with stress and anxiety states of mind and helping people to find a more mindful and accepting relationship with themselves. Is it possible to be your own best friend!
